Bharat Scout & Guide

The Bharat Scout and Guide is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people that aims to develop their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual capabilities. The Himachal Pradesh chapter of “The Bharat Scout and Guide” has established a unit at the Career Point University Hamirpur,  Himachal Pradesh. The unit has 24 seats allotted for Rovers and 24 seats allotted for Rangers. The unit is being led by Dr Sanjeev Kumar as the Rover Scout Leader and Ms Diksha Sharma as the Ranger Guide Leader. Mr Kundan Lal and Ms Diksha Sharma are the coordinators of the unit. Dr Manu Vineet Sharma is the Commissioner of the Bharat Scout & Guide. This report provides an overview of the activities and achievements of The Bharat Scout and Guide Unit at the Career Point University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. The Chapter No. The Group is BSGHP-40-0001/2022.

Objectives: It is a voluntary movement, and its motto is ‘Be Prepared’ for the service of mankind and the protection of nature. To contribute to the education of young people through
a value system based on the Scout/Guide promise and law to build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play constructive roles in society. Also, the
purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people by helping them achieve their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual potential as
individuals, responsible citizens, and members of local, national, and international communities. 

Activities: The Bharat Scout and Guide Unit at the Career Point University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, has been active in various activities aimed at the overall development of
young people. Some of the activities conducted by the unit are as follows:

1. Camping: The unit has organised several camping trips for the rovers and rangers. The camping trips provide an opportunity for young people to learn survival skills, team-building, and leadership.
2. Community service: The unit has organised several community service activities, such as cleaning drives, blood donation camps, and awareness campaigns on social issues.
3. Adventure activities: The unit has organised several adventure activities, such as trekking, rock climbing, and rappelling. These activities provide an opportunity for young people to overcome their fears and develop self-confidence.
4. Training programmes: The unit has organised several training programmes for the rovers and rangers. The training programmes aim to develop their skills in various areas such as first aid, disaster management, and communication.
