Career Point University Hamirpur celebrated National Science Day on 28th February 2017 with a theme “Science and Technology for specially abled persons”. Dr. P. L. Gautam, honourable Vice Chancellor of Career Point University, Hamirpur inaugurated this function and addressed students about role and importance of science in our life. On the celebration of ‘Science Day’ students from various departments participated actively in different events like speech, power point presentation, documentary, poster presentation, quiz competition and drama.
Career Point University Hamirpur celebrated ‘Women’s Day’ on 8th March 2017. Dr. P. L. Gautam, honourable Vice Chancellor of Career Point University, Hamirpur inaugurated this function. Students from various departments participated actively in different events like speech, declamation, documentary, poetry, and Painting Competition based on theme “Be Bold for Change”.
A two day Techno Cultural Fest Anant-2017 was organized at Career Point University on 24th& 25th April 2017. Students participated in different Technical & cultural events & showcased their talents in these two days. A Tabla jugal bandi was the attraction for day one & a heart stealing performance by musical band “The Rudra” for day two. Students from engineering showcased their creativity through their live models. Group Discussion, Presentations, Quiz competition, Drama, Dance performances, In house band performances and many more were in the list for this two day fest.
71st Independence Day was celebrated at Career Point University on 15th August, 2017. Honorable vice chancellor Dr. P L Gautam hoisted Indian fag on this occasion. The vibrant colors of National flag adorned the campus premises. Freedom fighters were remembered with gratitude for their supreme sacrifices. Sweets were also distributed on this day.
Two days orientation programme for undergraduate and postgraduate students was organized at Career Point University, Hamirpur from 16th to 17th August, 2017. Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. P L Gautam addressed the students about the modern system of education and various new ways to achieve their goals. The students were provided information regarding the grading system of the university. Registrar, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma also interacted with the students and provided the information about the achievements of university.
Freshers’ party for newly admitted students of different courses was organized from 26th to 28th of August, 2017 at M P Hall in University campus. This event was hosted by the senior students of different departments of the university. And are organized with a motive to know each other.
Auditions for “Dance Himachal Dance” were organized at Career Point University, Hamirpur on 29th of August, 2017. It was a Divya Himachal’s (Leading Hindi News paper) state level dance event. This famous event was organized for the very first time in Career Point University. 82 participants from nearby places & 18 students from the university participated in the auditions.
On 5th September, 2017, Teacher’s Day was celebrated at Career Point University, Hamirpur. Theme for celebrating Teacher’s day 2017 was “Felicitation of Outstanding Teachers 2016-17”. Vice chancellor and Dean of academic affairs had appreciated the faculties for their outstanding performances in academics.
A Guest Lecture was organized at Career Point University on 18th September, 2017 on E-Waste management. The lecture was delivered by Dr.V.P Patial, Controller of examination (HPTU). He spoke about the issues related to E-waste and lack of focus on environmental and health concerns in the existing recycling operations. He then elaborated on E-waste Handling & Management Rules; 2011.He stressed on the fact that all bulk consumers should dispose e-waste only to authorized recyclers and maintain records of all e-waste disposed.
On 15th of September, 2017, Dr. N. Parsuraman, Principle scientist, Sustainable Development –M S Swaminathan Research foundation (Chennai) has visited Career Point University and an interaction session was organized for the students.
World pharmacist day was celebrated on 25th September, 2017 by the Department of Pharmacy, Career Point University Hamirpur. “From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service” was the theme of this year's World Pharmacists Day. Other faculty members of concerned department were also present there. Students were provided with the awareness regarding responsibilities and duties of a pharmacist towards their society.
An interaction session with Er. Vishal Sharma, from Labour and Employment Ministry, Government of India was organized at Career point university, Hamirpur on 25th September, 2017. 450 students of university participated in the event. Er. Vishal Sharma informed the students about various sources of employment, application procedures etc. He also explained National Career Service Scheme to the students.
A seminar was organized by Akhil Gayatri Parivar at Career Point University, Hamirpur on 26th September, 2017 with a theme on moral values & anti drug addiction. Inauguration of the program was done by Sh. Jai Prakash. A “Rath Yatra” has been started by the parivar and the main objective of this rath yatra is to inculcate morals values and aware the youth about anti drug addiction.
Annual sports meet was organized at Career Point University from 10th to 11th October, 2017. Mr. Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament was the chief guest of the program. Mr Anurag has inaugurated the program. He has addressed the students and gave his best wishes to the participants of different games.
On 11th October, 2017, International girl child was celebrated at Career Point University. Girl students with extraordinary performance in sports meet were felicitated on the occasion.
On 17th October, 2017, Diwali fest was organized at MP Hall in Career Point University, Hamirpur. The Fest was organized by Department of computer science. Students performed in different cultural activities like Dance competition, Song competition, Rangoli competition etc. Ramleela show was the main event of the Diwali fest.
On 7th November 2017 One Day Workshop on French Language was organized by the EDLC Club at Career Point University. More than 300 students from different streams participated in the workshop.
On 15th November 2017 Live Model Competition was organized by Technical Club on Theme: Waste Materials. Students from various departments participated & came up with innovations blended with their creativity.
