In a spirited celebration of knowledge and discovery, Career Point University Hamirpur has joined hands with HIMCOSTE Shimla and the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to observe National Science Day. The event, which spans from 6th to 28th February, is an endeavor to ignite young minds and foster a deep appreciation for science.
The first week of the celebration witnessed a series of engaging activities across three different schools in District Hamirpur. Renowned speakers, Dr. Manu Vineet Sharma, Dr. Rahul Sharma, and Dr. Arvind Sharma’s team, graced Shiksha Jyoti Public Sr Sec School, GSSS Patta, and JNV Dungri respectively, conducting expert talks, hands-on laboratory training, and infusing science with fun activities.
As the celebrations unfolded, each day brought new insights and knowledge to various schools in the district. On the 15th of February, an expert talk by Dr. Diksha Sharma at Govt Senior Secondary School Ladraur added a touch of expertise to the celebration.
The 16th of February saw Dr. Neha, Assistant Professor of Zoology, addressing a critical issue in Govt Sr Sec School Kharwar. Her expert talk and Science with Fun activity focused on “Nutritional Strategies for Anemia Prevention: Incorporating Millets into Student Diets,” aimed at combatting the rising cases of anemia among students.
Dr. Karan Thakur continued the enlightening series with an expert talk on the “Importance of Millets in Day to Day life” at Government Sr. Secondary School Bhoranj on the 17th of February. The following day, Dr. Shikha Chandel explored “Start-Up Problems with Statement Exploration” at Government Sr. Secondary School Didwin.
On 19th Feb an expert talk was delivered by Dr. Shikha Chandel at Government Sr. Secondary School Didwin on ” Start-Up Problems with Statement Exploration”
On the 20th of February, Dr. Priyanka enlightened the students at Government Sr. Secondary School Bohni on the wonders of millets, presenting them as a superfood with numerous health benefits.
The celebration extended to the 21st of February when Er. Anshul delivered an expert talk at the Government Sr. Secondary School in Dera Parol. The topics covered included “Unlocking the Wonders of Artificial Intelligence: A Journey into the Future” and “Millets: Nourishing the Future – A Journey Towards Sustainable Health and Agriculture.”
The grand finale on the 22nd of February featured an expert talk by Mr. Gandharv Singh Parmar at Government Sr. Secondary School (Girls) Hamirpur HP. Mr. Parmar discussed the paramount importance of science and technology, complemented by a captivating short movie.
The celebration encapsulates Career Point University’s commitment to fostering a scientific temperament among students.
