In this spirit, a group of enthusiastic Microbiology students embarked on an educational visit to Shir Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt College and Hospital and Prasher Lake. This journey allowed them to apply their theoretical knowledge practically while exploring the fascinating world of microbial diversity.
Interaction with Healthcare Professionals: The visit also involved engaging interactions with experienced healthcare professionals, including microbiologists, doctors, and lab technicians. The students had the chance to ask questions, seek advice, and gain insights into the challenges and advancements in the field of microbiology. Prasher Lake: A Natural Habitat for Microbial Diversity: As part of their visit, the students journeyed to Prasher Lake, a picturesque water body surrounded by lush greenery. The lake is known for its rich microbial diversity and serves as an ideal location for studying various microorganisms and their ecological roles. The students collected soil samples from different areas around the lake to analyze the microbial populations residing in these habitats.
Collecting Soil Samples and Analyzing Microbial Diversity: Equipped with sampling kits, the students carefully collected soil samples from various locations, taking note of the environmental conditions and specific characteristics of each sampling site. Back in the laboratory, they prepared cultures, conducted staining techniques, and employed modern molecular biology techniques to identify and classify the microbial species present in the soil samples.
