(Constituted as per UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions) The Anti-Ragging Committee of Career Point University, Hamirpur is a statutory body constituted to ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all students. The Committee functions in strict compliance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other regulatory authorities to prevent and prohibit any form of ragging within and outside the campus.
Objectives
- To eliminate ragging in all its forms from the university campus.
- To create awareness among students about the legal consequences of ragging.
- To promote healthy interaction between senior and junior students.
- To ensure a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and academic harmony.
Roles and Functions
- Policy Implementation: Enforces anti-ragging policies in accordance with UGC regulations.
- Monitoring & Vigilance: Conducts regular inspections of hostels, common areas, classrooms, sports facilities, and other campus spaces.
- Awareness Programs: Organizes orientation sessions, workshops, and awareness drives for newly admitted students and seniors.
- Complaint Redressal: Provides accessible mechanisms for reporting ragging incidents confidentially. Immediate action is taken upon receipt of any complaint.
- Disciplinary Action: Recommends strict disciplinary measures against individuals found guilty of ragging, which may include suspension, expulsion, rustication, fine, or filing of FIR as per law.
- Counselling & Support: Offers psychological and emotional support to affected students through counseling services.
Zero Tolerance Policy
The University follows a Zero Tolerance Policy towards ragging. Any student found involved in ragging activities is liable for severe disciplinary action under university rules and applicable laws.
