Red Ribbon Club
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a youth-led initiative supported by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Established within universities and colleges across the country, the club aims to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage voluntary blood donation among students.
Objective:
To equip students with knowledge about HIV/AIDS, eliminate social stigma, and foster responsible behavior through peer-led education, awareness campaigns, and community service.
Activities & Highlights:
- Organizing seminars, street plays, poster-making competitions, and awareness rallies on HIV/AIDS and related health issues.
- Conducting blood donation camps in collaboration with local blood banks and health departments.
- Hosting workshops and interactive sessions on topics such as reproductive health, substance abuse prevention, and mental well-being.
- Observing significant days like World AIDS Day, International Youth Day, and National Youth Day with educational and motivational events.
- Promoting life skills, leadership, and volunteerism through student-led initiatives and outreach.
