Research Policies

The Directorate of Research and Development (DRD) (earlier known as the R&D Cell) at Career Point University, Hamirpur (CPUH), established in 2015, serves as the hub for promoting research, innovation, and societal applications of knowledge. Under its ambit, nine specialized centres - including the Centre for Nano-Science & Technology, the Centre for Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Centre for Green Energy and the CPU-PSI Centre for Traditional Medicine, Yoga & Sanskar - actively foster interdisciplinary research and innovation. At present, more than 200 Ph.D. Scholars are pursuing their research in diverse fields such as nanotechnology, tissue culture, data science, traditional medicine, and allied areas, in collaboration with leading national institutions. To date, 79 Scholars have earned their doctoral degrees, and the University has completed around 14 Funded Projects in partnership with agencies like NABARD, ICAR, DST, and HIMCOSTE. The University has signed MoUs with more than 16 Government Institutions, including IIIT, DRDO, CSIR-IHBT, MDNIY, IIMR, RCFC-NMPB, ICAR-IGFRI, SAIF-PU, and HFRI.

The Directorate of Research and Development (DRD), through its specialized centres, serves as the nucleus for advancing knowledge and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Our community of UG/PG Students, Ph.D. Scholars and Faculty Members is actively engaged in pioneering research in collaboration with leading national institutions such as DRDO, CSIR-IHBT, IIIT, and ICAR. These partnerships not only strengthen the academic fabric of the University but also expand the frontiers of applied research and innovation.

With multiple funded research projects, three government-recognized incubators, and more than 50 nurtured startups, CPUH has established itself as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship in Himachal Pradesh. We take pride in empowering young innovators to translate ideas into impactful solutions. Equally, the University is making significant contributions to transforming rural livelihoods and strengthening community-based development initiatives. About

Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) of Career Point University (CPU), Hamirpur was established by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), MoS&T, GoI on 28th March 2023. The objective of TEC is to create an Eco-system for Technology Development in the Universities and provide a platform to network Researchers/Innovators with other Institutes, National Laboratories and Industries. The focus of TEC is on providing an enabling eco-system, process and support system.
